Myoung-Gi Chon is an assistant professor at School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. He received Ph.D. degree, mass communication and public affairs, from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University (May, 2017). He earned his M.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism and bachelor's degree in English and Literature from Korea University.
Before coming to the U.S. in fall 2013, he was a researcher at Korea Research Center (KRC) and Korea Internet & Social Media Research Center (KISRC) in Seoul, Korea. In particular, he conducted projects related to political and social issues in public sector and marketing in private sector. He also participated in projects of utilizing Big-data in social science. He recently received Top Paper Award from 2019 AEJMC(1st place) and International ABERJE Award from International PR Conference (2019). He also received the Promising Professor Award (3rd place) from Mass Communication & Society in AEJMC 2017. He won three Top Paper Awards from International Public Relations Conference (IPRRC), 2014 and 2015, and AEJMC, 2014. His two papers were also presented at Top paper sessions of PR at 2015 ICA and at 2016 AEJMC. As a co-advisor of PRSSA, he received the Corey Edwards Organization Advisor of the Year Award (2018-2019) from Auburn University. |
